Otago Polytechnic Student Village

A variety of 231 student dorm rooms, apartments, studios, and common areas, over 5 floor levels, as part of an on-campus village, provide accommodation for Dunedin’s polytechnic university students.

The brief? To deliver a flexible, on-trend design that was both ergonomically friendly and reflected the sustainable nature of the building. The product also needed to be on-time and on-budget, while making best-use of the space-restrictions within each room.

Compac Commercial worked with project managers to develop and hone the design, right through to supply and installation. The study desks, wardrobes, kitchen cabinetry and shelving were all manufactured Compac Home, using Compac Panels product. Compac Commercial also sourced and supplied appliances and accessories, including fridges, microwaves, chairs and pinboards.

The result? Vibrant and communal living spaces, in keeping with the environmental nature of the building, and providing students with the ultimate place to call home.
