UniLodge on Whitaker

With 300 rooms, across two 15 level towers, and common area facilities including kitchen, laundry, study and theatre, Unilodge provides contemporary Auckland student accommodation and living.

The ask? Design and build modern, custom-built furniture and fittings to kit out the brand new student apartments. The products need to be innovative but very cost-effective, space-minimising, and built to take the knocks any under-grad can throw at them.

Compac Commercial designed, supplied and installed the furniture and kitchenettes for the student rooms. Our sister companies Compac Panels and Compac Home manufactured and built the king single beds, study desks, wardrobes, 2-drawer bedsides, shelving, kitchen cabinetry and bathroom shelving units.

Where we couldn’t manufacture an item, we sourced and supplied it. That included ergonomically designed chairs, 32-inch flat-screen LCD TVs, microwaves, 2-burner electric cooktops, and bar fridges.

It was a substantial project, manufactured, delivered and installed on time and to budget. The client was very impressed by the design, quality, and management the Compac Group provided.
